Emotional freedom technique, or EFT, is dependent on proper EFT tapping. Basic EFT is very straightforward, and tapping is simple for individuals to learn. Once a person learns the EFT tapping methods, they can usually complete a round of them in less than one minute.
The fingertips are the most important tool for EFT tapping. You are finding acupressure meridians on your body, and your fingertips contain a high number of these meridians. If you can utilize this energy and strength by tapping firmly but gently on both sides of the body during EFT, you can begin to release both physical and mental problems.
Before you being your EFT tapping, you need to recognize the negative thought you are feeling, and replace it with a positive affirmation. While tapping, you can even use music to release positive energies and increase brain function. Also, different EFT professionals believe different techniques to be effective: you may visit an EFT therapist who suggests drinking lots of water during your session, while others may suggest a few moments of quiet EFT tapping, with no concentration on negative feelings.
EFT tapping follows a set of techniques, and body parts are usually tapped in this order for maximum results: the eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone, under arm, side of thumbnail, index fingernail, middle fingernail, little fingernail, and a final karate chop part on the hand. Each EFT tapping technique is repeated about three times.
You can also focus on problem areas by rubbing the sore spot before you begin your EFT tapping. This will release some of the negative energy, and make it easier to treat the problem with the EFT taps. It's all about really getting through to your emotions and realizing how you can use them to your advantage, rather than letting them control you.
