EFT and Phobias

Many people find amazing results from the Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT. One of the areas that EFT has been very successful in healing is in the case of people with phobias. Phobias are a form of anxiety, and can take the form of everything from fear of flying to fear of spiders - and everything in between! Even objects most of us consider very mundane, ordinary and unthreatening can be the object of some else's phobia. The phobia can range form abject terror of physical harm to utter revulsion evoked by an object. These emotions often manifest very strongly physically as well as emotionally and mentally. Often, people despair of healing. In fact, a number of people have found fast relief from phobias after only a few sessions. It doesn't matter how intense a phobia is, or how strongly the person is affected, the Emotional Freedom Technique can be used for healing.

The number one phobia that people suffer from is the fear of public speaking. Many people dislike speaking in front of a crowd, and they will panic and feel extreme anxiety when they have to give a toast or speech. By utilizing EFT while repeating positive affirmations about the phobia can eliminate most or all of the fear of public speaking. Those who have gone through EFT training thoroughly even a few times they should find they are calm and relaxed for their upcoming speaking engagement.

Getting over a phobia with EFT begins with recognizing and accepting the phobia for what it is. For example, a person might say "Even though I am very afraid of blood, I choose to accept this phobia and get over it." Realizing that you have the ability to change is the most important first step you can take before they undergo healing through the emotional freedom technique. This can be difficult for people who are desperately afraid of something in their life, but it is crucial for successful EFT. Remember that fears are not part of your true identity; they are imaginary limitations that need to be released for you to be totally free.

Next in this healing process you should utilize the tapping routines of EFT, which involves acupressure on meridian points of the body using the fingertips - firm tapping over specific points on your eyelids, sides of the face, forehead and EFT karate chop points on the sides of your hands is repeated while the affirmations are said again and again. Over the course of the EFT session, the individual will usually experience a feeling of great healing and relief. If EFT is repeated over time, you can completely eliminate any phobia.

One great benefit of EFT is that it can use this healing therapy on yourself for really beneficial results. You can also see an EFT therapist, who can help you learn the techniques in a professional setting. A number of people have seen relief from just one session of EFT! However, a lot of people choose to do their own research, and read books and watch videos on EFT. EFT is very easy to learn, and the techniques are very simple. With a little practice, you can really make the Emotional Freedom Technique work for you. EFT offers rapid relief from numerous emotional and physical ailments without meriting the negative label "quick fix." It's a thorough and comprehensive healing process.

If results aren't seen right away, the EFT needs to be repeated either by an EFT therapist or by yourself. Most patients do find relief from their phobias with continued EFT, so don't get discouraged if you don't immediately see results. After all, you've experienced the phobia for a long time - it's worth sticking with a healing treatment!
